Captain Bruddy Tyson

I am a native Floridian raised along the shorelines of the Indian River Lagoon.  Both my father and grandfather were in the fishing industry, so you might say fishing is in my blood. As a kid, I got hooked on the Indian River. I could always go there and catch fish!  It wasn’t until later that I discovered the Indian River Lagoon is “the most diverse estuary in North America” with over 300 species of fish and countless numbers of birds and other wildlife. I learned to appreciate and respect our waterways.

In April 1995, I vacationed in Islamorada in the Florida Keys.  I immediately fell in love with the waters, abundant fish and amazing surroundings. To this day, I never miss a chance to get back! Over the years, I have had the opportunity to fish with some of the best guides in the Keys.  It is my good fortune to not only have these men as teachers, but also as friends.

I mostly guide in my home waters of the Treasure Coast , but I can also be found guiding in the Florida Keys.

My guiding style can be best described as “old school”. I use a push pole to stalk fish in shallow water.  I teach my clients how to fish using a fly rod or light tackle gear.  From novice to an old salt, everyone is welcome aboard my skiff.  No matter how the fish bite, my goal is for everyone to return to the dock with a smile.
